The NC State Biotechnology Program will be hosting the first of a new seminar series sponsored by BASF Plant Science, FRONTIERS IN BIOTECHNOLOGY. The invited guest speaker is Dr. Pamela Ronald from UC Davis.

Now Accepting Applications

The NC State Biotechnology Program is now accepting applications for the 2013 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (BIT SURE). This is an opportunity for undergraduate students to gain valuable independent research experience. Please see the Application Information link to view eligibility requirements and other details. The application form is also posted. All application materials are due Friday, March 1.

BIT-SURE Students Publish Research Results

Christina Stolarchuk and Morgan Dent, two participants in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience Program, published their data in the Journal of Young Investigators. Chrstina and Morgan, NCSU students in Biochemistry and Biomedical Engineering, respecitvely, worked under the direction of former BIT instructor Heather Miller.

BIT Students Present Winning Poster

Students from BIT 100 Phage Hunters class presented a winning poster at the 21st Annual NC State Undergraduate Research Symposium. Congratulations to:

Tat specific factor 1 modulates HIV-1 RNA size class levels

Khrystyna Stolyarchuk, a senior biochemistry major, gave an oral presentation on her research completed this past summer in the BIT SURE Program. The State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium was held November 19th at East Carolina University's Heart Institute.
