Trainee Highlight: Phil Loziuk, PhD 2016, Chemistry

"I just returned from my 3 month internship at Fujifilm Diosynth in RTP There I was involved with my own independent project as well as many other small projects.  The contract biopharma work was fast paced and required extensive multitasking as well as working with other scientists to communicate results to clients.  I just wanted to let you know I had a great experience and learned a lot about working in Biopharma.  More specifically, I helped develop analytical methods for characterizing antibody drug conjugates.  Overall, it was a very successful experience and I would highly recommend it for future interns."

Trainee Highlight: Ben Zeldes, Chemichal and Biomolecular Engineering

"My internship was with Novartis Flu Vaccines, working in their Technical Development department. Several of my direct supervisors were PhD level scientists, and talking with them gave me a better idea of the sort of work I can expect in a career in the Biotech industry after graduation.  I also got a first-hand look at what life is like working in the tightly regulated medical products industry: so many validation procedures and safety meetings. By the end of the summer, after having seen what happens behind the scenes, I felt even safer about getting vaccines than I had at the beginning, which is probably the highest compliment I can pay to the people I worked with during my internship."
